Vests

A men's vest can nicely add character to your personal style. The style and material of the vest can influence whether it brings a relaxed or festive touch to your outfit. The vest works well in casual wear, as well as in smart casual or formal attire. 

Previously, the vest was a staple in every gentleman's wardrobe and was a standard accessory alongside a suit. Later, as fashion changed and due to material rationing, the vest was abandoned as a companion to the suit, although it still remains part of the most formal attire such as with a tuxedo and tailcoat. 

Combining the vest with many different outfits

Nowadays, you can traditionally pair a vest with a 3-piece suit, but for a more casual occasion, the vest can completely replace the blazer or serve as an outfit for the end of the evening when it's time to switch to a more relaxed look and take off the jacket. 

The vest also works on its own with a dress shirt and chinos at the office or more casually paired with a sweater or even a t-shirt and jeans. At its best, the same vest combined with different outfits brings a versatile look to your various ensembles.

Especially in the vests from the Reykjavik district, versatility has been considered by designing the front panels of the vest to seamlessly match our blazers, while personality is found in the wonderfully colorful back panels and one differently colored button in the front along with a matching pocket square.
