Dress shirts

A dress shirt is definitely one of the classics of dressing and also a cornerstone of the wardrobe. A high-quality dress shirt withstands use from wash to wash.  

There is a wide range of dress shirts available. The absolute classic is, of course, the white dress shirt. A white dress shirt suits every occasion and is definitely the right choice for celebrations. A white dress shirt always works with a dark suit. With a blue dress shirt, you can add a nice touch of color to the ensemble, for example, with a blazer. There are differences in the fabrics of dress shirts; some are clearly more formal while others are well-suited for more casual wear. Small details, such as buttons in different colors, can give a new look to a traditional dress shirt.

When choosing a dress shirt, it's worth considering the thickness of the fabric. If you tend to sweat easily, it's advisable to choose a thin dress shirt. In summer, a thinner dress shirt is definitely more comfortable to wear and it breathes better. A thicker cotton fabric in a shirt is naturally always a bit warmer, so such a shirt is excellent for winter dressing. 

You can recognize high-quality cotton fabric, for example, by what the washing label says about ironing. If the shirt is recommended to be ironed at a low temperature, it indicates that the fabric is of high quality. 

Consider the collar style when choosing a dress shirt

There are many different collar types in dress shirts. It is advisable to choose the collar type based on both the occasion and personal preference. Typically, a dress shirt has traditional collars which can be either stiff or soft. Stiff collars are more formal and do not wrinkle, and most traditional dress shirts have these. In a cutaway collar shirt, the collars are slightly smaller and remain more open than in a traditional dress shirt. In our selection of Bronx shirts, the collars are small and this type of dress shirt is often worn with one button open. A mandarin collar is a dress shirt without any collars at all, but it rises slightly around the neck. There are also dress shirts with collars that have buttons for fastening, known as button-down collars, which add a nice detail to the shirt and are best suited for casual wear.

A patterned dress shirt can be colorful, and a bold print shirt brings out the wearer's personality. A dress shirt can have color, and even with a small pattern, you can give a new look to the whole outfit. A patterned dress shirt works great on its own, for example, paired with chinos. Boldly try a colorful dress shirt; the ensemble works well when you wear solid-colored pants and perhaps a sweater. A bold dress shirt works excellently with a subdued blazer.
